“For the first time in the history of our movement, we are on the cusp of creating lasting cultural change that goes beyond securing our rights, to securing equality in the course of our daily, lived experiences.”
- Rachel J. Robasciotti, Chair, Face Value Steering Committee

Fear, prejudice and stigma against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people is unacceptable and wrong, yet continues to thrive. To overcome this, we need to shift the definition of LGBTQ equality beyond legal rights to one based in the acceptance, recognition and celebration of LGBTQ people, families and children.

We need a queer narrative that allows people to effectively interact around stories that represent the richness, complexity and humanity of the LGBTQ community. We need to tell these stories in such a way as to change the feelings of discomfort and tolerance toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people to ones of acceptance, recognition and celebration – and, in so doing, create a society where we are literally taken at face value.

Face Value’s unprecedented approach to cultural transformation will impact the lives and experience of LGBTQ people in our society forever. Join us and help us create a society where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people are fully accepted and integrated into the fabric of American life.
